NEW RECORDS OF PSAMMORYCTIDES BARBATUS (GRUBE, 1861) AND ACHAETA SP. VEJDOVSKý, 1878 (OLIGOCHAETA: CLITELLATA) TO THE IRAQI FAUNA

Abstract

During a survey of the Gharraf and Dijaila River benthic Invertebrates, which branching from Tigris River at Kut Barrage in Wasit Province, Iraq, that made from January – December 2016, two oligochaeta were identified which were not recorded before on the Iraq fauna. These are: Psammoryctides barbatus (Grube, 1861) and Achaeta sp. Vejdovský, 1878. The present article is the first of a series of articles on the oligochaeta of Iraqi water bodies.
