Abstract
This study is aimed to understand the influence of different cultivation system on silver catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) fry growth and survival. This study was performed at the Fishery Laboratory, Building 4, Faculty of Fishery and Marine Science, Universitas Padjadjaran, during the period of June to August 2017. This was an experimental study with Complete Randomized Design (CRD) on Malay silver catfish fry using 3 treatments with 4 repetitions. Treatment A consisted of recirculating culture system; treatment B consisted of biofloc culture system; and treatment C consisted of conventional culture system as the control. Parameters measured in this study were absolute growth, survival, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), and water quality. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance with 5% confidence level followed by Duncan multiple range test. The results showed that the highest absolute growth (5.3 grams) was found in treatment B while the highest survival rate (97%) was found in the recirculating system. Biofloc system presented the lowest FCR value compared to other treatments, i.e. 0.8.
