Abstract
This research presents the assessment of 6 Phthalate esters (PAEs) indicator in sediment samples covering six sites in Kim Nguu River, Hanoi. Chemical analyses were carried out in collected sediment samples in dry season (April) and wet season (October) in 2017. Results pointed out a significant residue of contaminant with Σ6PAEs values ranging from 23.21 to 199.51 μg/kg. All 6 PAEs indicators could be detected in the collected sediment samples with the predominance of DEHP and DBP. PAEs had low environmental risks in the sediment of studied area. However, due to the propensity of PAEs to highly accumulate in various compartments of wildlife and human food webs, further evaluation of ecological risk assessment in Kim Nguu River should be undertaken as a high priority.
