Abstract
Environment is considered as our surrounding which comprises of biotic or abiotic components. It also includes all ecological forces that are physical, chemical and other natural forces. All living and non-living things exist in our environment. They all constantly interact with each other and interactive changes in response to unfavourable conditions lead to environmental anomaly. There are interactions between animals, plants, soil, water and other living and non-living things leading to several kinds of problems arise like pollution and over consumption of resources due to higher population growth. Above all, over consumption of resources in unsustainable manner leads to environmental imbalance. Due to this, the level of pollution rises in water, air, noise, soil even there are higher levels of radioactive radiations recorded. Due to pollutants i.e. domestic wastes, industrial discharge and hot water coming from thermal power stations, the water quality attributes e.g. BOD, COD and DO are found to be imbalanced. Herein we present our study indicating towards extent of quality of water from different places by considering BOD, COD and DO levels.
