Abstract
The paper presents the results of comparative testing of spring soft wheat cultivars. The purpose of the research is to study the yield and quality of grain of commercial cultivars of spring soft wheat cultivated in Northern Kazakhstan. Based on the conducted studies, it was found that the cultivars âBaiterekâ, âCelina 50â, âKaragandinskaya 22â, âOmskaya 18â, âOmskaya 28â exceeded the standard cultivar âAkmola 2â. It was also found that the following crop structure elements had a great influence on forming the yield capacity of cultivars: the number of fertile tillers, the number of grains per ear and the mass of 1,000 grains. The cultivars âShortandinskaya 95 uluchshennayaâ, âBaiterekâ, âOmskaya 28â combined a high number of grains per ear with a high mass of 1,000 grains. Based on the results of the analysis, the cultivars with a high protein content and sediment particles were determined: âAsylSapaâ, âOmskaya 35â, âSurenta 3â, âBaiterekâ, and âShortandinskaya 2007â. According to the genetic analysis of glutenin content, all genotypes contain valuable alleles associated with good baking qualities.
