Abstract
The rainfall charts of 25 years of Gondia (Maharashtra) were analysed in the form of annual maximum series of various duration, viz. 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes and 1, 3, 6, 12 and 24 hours. The values of parameters âaâ and âbâ were determined by using graphical method and the values of âKâ and âdâ by least square method in the rainfall intensity â duration â return period relation. The values of constants K, a, b and d were found to be 5.2844, 0.1708, 0.21 and 0.6671, respectively. The nomograph was developed for Gondia station from IDF relationship. The percent deviation in rainfall intensity values observed from mathematical and nomographic solution ranges from -3.90 to 5.18 percent, which lies within the accepted limit.
