Abstract
During the past few decades there had been a constant increase in utilization of pesticides in plant protection, on their constant usage is necessary to provide food and fibre to the increasing population. Indiscriminate use of pesticides causing number of problem such as insect pests developing resistance resurgence and residue problems along with elimination of beneficial insects and also causing health hazards. It is high time realise problems posed such as pollution of the environment, eliminating the important flora and fauna, causing hazards to living organism due to misuse, abuse and overuse of pesticides, Hence it is necessary to manage the pests through non pesticide approach utilizing different methods viz. Cultural, mechanical, physical, biological and use of bio pesticides, for obtaining the increased food production along with pesticide free food and fodder.
