Abstract
An organophosphate (OP) pesticide is the most popular type of pesticide family, which effectively eliminates pests owing to its acute neurotoxicity. Organophosphorus hydrolase (oph) is a bacterial enzyme that is capable of degrading a wide range of neurotoxic OP pesticides. It was proved that Kocuriaspecies was capable in degrading organophosphate (OP) pesticide. The present study was aimed at analysing its ability in degrading chloropyrifos using GC and FTIR.
