Abstract
Twelve genotypes of onion were grown in RBD with three replications at as spacing of 15x30 cm during Rabi 2004 at Horticultural Research Scheme (Veg. crops) Research sub campus, MAU, Parbhani (M.S.). The bulb yield was recorded maximum in Agrifound light red (43.08 t/ha) followed by L-28 (39.19 t/ha), J.N. DOW-207 (37.03 t/ha). The quality traits viz. TSS was maximum in Arka Niketan (13.66 B) followed by Agrifound dark red (13.33 B) and R.O.-59 (12.33 B). Genotype Agrifound dark red was found superior for most of the traits viz., less bolting percentage, less twin bulb percentage, maximum shape index, more number of bulb per kg, Percentage of physiological weight in loss and total loss in weight was less.
