Abstract
A field experiments was conducted at Crop Research Centre, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, with a view to compare the production potential under different levels of zinc and sulphur and to find out the economic viability of this cultivar for soil quality. The treatments comprised of T1 [(RDF (100%) 120, 60, 40], T2 [RDF (100%) + Zn @ 2.5 kg ha-1], T3 [RDF (100%) + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1], T4 [RDF (100%) + S @ 30 kg ha-1], T5 [RDF (100%) + S @ 60 kg ha-1], T6 [RDF (100%) + Zn spray @ 0.2% at 30 & 60 DAS], T7 [RDF (100%) + Zn @ 2.5 kg ha-1 + S @ 30 kg ha-1], T8 [RDF (100%) + Zn@ 2.5 kg ha-1 + S @ 60 kg ha-1], T9 [RDF (100%) + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + S @ 30 kg ha-1] and T10 [RDF (100%) + Zn@ 5.0 kg ha-1 + S @ 60 kg ha-1]exhibited significant influence on yield attributes and yield of mustard as compared to the application of 100% RDF alone. The maximum gross return was obtained in T10 which was at par with T8 and T9. The highest net return was obtained in T10 which was at par with T8 and T9 , while minimum gross return and net return was obtained in T1 during both the years. Application of RDF (100%) + Zn @ 5.0 kg ha-1 + S @ 60 kg ha-1 (T10) and RDF (100%) + Zn @ 2.5 kg ha-1 + S @ 60 kg ha-1 (T8) recorded higher gross return, net return and B:C ratio due to higher cost of zinc and sulphur. Higher values of B: C ratio (3.29 & 3.62) was obtained in T10 during 2024-25 and 2025-26.
