Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at the Instructional Farm, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, MPUAT, Udaipur during two consecutive rabi seasons 2024-25 and 2025-26, to study the effect of phosphorus levels and nano DAP on the chickpea crop. An experiment was laid out in split plot design, comprising four phosphorus levels (main plots) viz., control (no phosphorus), 50% RDP, 75% RDP and 100% RDP (recommended dose of phosphorus) and six nano DAP treatments (sub plots) viz., control (N1- water spray), seed treatment with nano DAP (N2), foliar spray of nano DAP at branching (N3), foliar spray of nano DAP at pre-flowering (N4), foliar spray of nano DAP at branching and pre-flowering (N5) and feed treatment + foliar spray of nano DAP at branching and pre-flowering (N6) replicated three times. The results revealed that 100% RDP (F4) significantly increased plant height (56.14 and 56.01 cm) and dry matter accumulation (16.07 and 15.94 g plant-1) during experimental years, recording an increase by 13.66 to 27.74% over the control. Among the nano-fertilizers, seed treatment followed by foliar spray of nano DAP at branching and pre-flowering (N6) showed superior results, enhancing plant height (8.54%) and dry matter (15.89%) over the nano control (N1). Conclusively, the integration of 100% RDP along with seed treatment followed by foliar spray of nano DAP at branching and pre-flowering treatment was found to be the best nutrient management practice for crop growth.
