Abstract

In recent years, there is growing concern on overuse of chemical fertilizers which are degrading natural soil fertility. Thus a field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2024-25 at Research Farm of School of Agriculture, Abhilashi University, Mandi (H.P) to study the impact of nano urea plus on yield and fertilizer saving in wheat. Six treatments and three replications were included in the randomized block design. Results of the study revealed that all the crop growth parameters (plant height, shoot number and dry matter accumulation), yield attributes (effective tillers and number of grains per spike) and yield (grain and straw) were significantly higher with the application of 50% RDN at sowing + 25% RDN at 30 DAS + 2 sprays of nano urea plus at 40 and 60 DAS (T3), which was statistically at par with the application of 50% RDN at sowing + 50% RDN at 30 DAS (T1) and 50% RDN at sowing + 25% RDN at 30 DAS + 1 spray of nano urea plus at 40 DAS (T2). Highest economic returns (net returns and net returns per rupee invested) were obtained from the application of 50% RDN at sowing + 25% RDN at 30 DAS + 2 sprays of nano urea plus at 40 and 60 DAS (T3).
