Abstract
An On- Farm trial was executed at farmers' fields in 7 locations of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha during Kharif 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 to evaluate the performance of protein-rich rice varieties CR Dhan 311 and CR Dhan 315, which were compared to the farmers' variety Lalat. CR Dhan 315 was found to record the highest plant height of 109.2 cm, effective tillers per square meter 264.61, Grains per panicle 96.14 and yield of 41.62q/ha pooled for both years. This was followed by CR Dhan 311which recorded a plant height of 107.5 cm, effective tillers per square meter 262.38, Grains per panicle was recorded to be 94.28 and yield of 41.20 q/ha. The CR Dhan 315 gave higher gross return of Rs. 84002 per heactre with a B-C ratio of 1.50 and additional income of Rs 28002 per hectare where as CR Dhan 311 which gave a gross return of Rs 79928 per hectare with a B-C ratio of 1.42 and additional income of Rs. 23928 per hectare. The crude protein content and zinc in grains was recorded to be higher in CR Dhan 311 10.26% followed by CR Dhan 311 8.1% and finally by Lalat. As far as Zinc content goes CR Dhan 315 recorded highest zinc content of 23.8 ppm followed by 19 ppm for CR Dhan 311.
