Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during the rabi season of 2023-24 at Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Jananayak Chandrashekhar University, Ballia, to study the âGrowth and Yield Response of Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) to Organic and Inorganic Nutrient Sources in the Indo-Gangetic Plains of Uttar Pradeshâ. The experiment was consisting five treatments viz., 50% RDF+10 tones ha-1 vermicompost (T1), Control (T2), 75% RDF+7.5-tones ha-1 vermicompost (T3), 100% RDF+ 5 tones ha-1 vermicompost (T4), 125%RDF+2.5 tones ha-1 vermicompost (T5). The barely variety used for the study was BH393. The experimental results showed that application of 100% RDF+ 5 tones ha-1 vermicompost (T4) produced significantly higher plant height, dry matter accumulation at 60, 90 DAS and harvest, number of effective tillers plant-1, number of grains ear-1, ear length, test weight(g), Grain and biological yield over application of 50% RDF+10 tones ha 1 vermicompost, 75% RDF+7.5-tones ha-1 vermicompost, 125% RDF+2.5 tones ha-1 vermicompost (T5) and control.
