Abstract
In the present study we evaluated the proximate and mineral composition of ten little millet (Panicum sumatrense L.) genotypes grown in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Nutritional characteristics, such as moisture, carbohydrate, protein, fat, fiber, and ash content, showed significant variance. The quantities of calcium, iron, zinc, manganese, and copper varied significantly between genotypes, according to mineral analysis. Genotypes with better nutritional profiles included WV-345, WV-313, WV-182, and WV-397. The results show that tiny millet has the potential to improve dietary quality and treat micronutrient deficiencies in eastern Uttar Pradesh as a nutrient-rich, climate-resilient crop.
