INVESTIGATING FLY ASH AS A SUSTAINABLE AND LOW-COST ADSORBENT FOR PB(II) ION REMEDIATION IN WASTEWATER

SHAKUNTALA THAKUR AND RASHMI VERMA

Abstract

In the study, the adsorption potential of Flay ash for the removal of Pb(II) ions from wastewater has been investigated. Lagergren’s pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order kinetic equation and Langmuir’s adsorption isotherm has been used to discuss the adsorption capacity of china clay for the removal of lead. Thermodynamic parameters such as free energy change, enthalpy change and change in entropy have been evaluated and discussed, and an idea process are spontaneity and feasibility of the adsorption process. And also study how the adsorption capacities are affected by different pH levels, different concentrations, different temperatures, and contact time.
