Abstract
This study evaluated 12 aonla germplasms (T1-T12) for their chemical characteristics at Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology. The germplasms were assessed for various parameters, including chemical composition (TSS, acidity, vitamin C, sugars, juice content, and phenol content). Results showed significant variations among the germplasms for all studied traits. The TSS ranged from 7.4-11.2 °Brix, with T10-BSR-1 showing the highest value. Vitamin C content varied from 425-575 mg/100g, with T3-NA-6 exhibiting the maximum value. T6-HES-1 recorded the highest juice percentage (48.67%). The study identified promising germplasms with superior chemical traits, which can be utilized for further breeding programs or commercial cultivation. The findings suggest considerable variability among Aonla germplasms, highlighting the potential for selection and improvement of desirable traits.
