Abstract
The experiment was conducted at Regional Horticultural Research Station, ASPEE College of Horticulture, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari during 2022-23 and 2023-24. The experiment was laid out in a Completely Randomized Design with three repetitions and seven treatments viz. T1 : Soil + Cocopeat (1:2), T2 : Cocopeat + Vermicompost (1:1), T3 : Cocopeat + Vermicompost + Perlite (1:1:1), T4 : Cocopeat + Vermicompost + Vermiculite (1:1:1), T5 : Cocopeat + Vermicompost + Vermiculite + Perlite (1:1:1:1), T6: Cocopeat + Perlite (1:1), T7 : Cocopeat + Vermiculite (1:1). The media was taken on volume by volume base. The results of an experiment revealed that minimum days to 50% germination and maximum seed germination, vegetative growth (i.e., plant height, collar diameter, leaf area), biomass production (i.e., fresh weight of shoot, fresh weight of root, dry weight of shoot, dry weight of root) and survival of plant at 45 days after sowing ware observed in treatment T5 (Cocopeat + Vermicompost + Vermiculite + Perlite (1:1:1:1 v/v).
