Abstract
The study was conducted in Western Uttar Pradesh India during the year 2024-25 to find out the Socio economic characteristics of the farmers practice of plant protection measures in basmati rice cultivation. In the study 160 farmers were selected as respondents. The independent variables such as age, education, occupation, land holding, etc. Data were collected through structured personal interview schedule. The statistical methods and tests such as frequency, and percentage, were used for analysis of data. The result of the data showed that the majority 39.37% of the farmers belonged to young age group. The majority 28.75% farmers were educated high school level, 82.50% respondent were engaged in agriculture as their main occupation, 38.12% were having large size (above 4 ha) of land holding, 48% were used private tube well for irrigation, and 50% respondents were having membership of only one social organization while 23.75% respondents having no membership any social organization. In the study 73.12% respondents were getting information from KVK Scientist.
