Abstract
Among the flowering plants of world, bulbous flowering plants are one of the most wonderful creations of nature. Gladiolus (Gladiolus hybrida L. or Gladiolus grandiflora L.) is an important commercial herbaceous ulbous flowering plant belongs to the family Iridaceae that has a chromosome number of 2n=30 to 120. Gladiolus has top rank in the list of all bulbous flowering plants and is referred as âQueen of bulbous flower cropsâ (Kaikal and Nauriyal, 1964). The term Gladiolus was first coined by Pling the Elderr (AD 23-79) from the Latin word âGladius meaning âSword. In Europe it is commonly called as âCorn flagâ due to its infestation as a weed (Bose and Yadav, 1989). Ten genotypes were evaluated during Rabi season 2022-23 and 2023-24. The disease incidence of Fusarium oxysporium was varied from 4.7 to 31.55%. Out of ten, two genotypes Peter Pear and Dhanvantri were exhibited as susceptible (S) reaction, three genotypes such as Punjab Glad-1, Punjab Down, Pratap Glad -1 were classified as Resistant (R) with disease incidence between 0.1-5.0% , Four genotypes, including Arka Manorma, Pusa Kiran, Green Spire, White Prosperity exhibited disease incidence ranging from 5.1%-10.0% were categorized as moderately resistant (MR). None of the genotypes were found to be immune, moderately susceptible, or highly susceptible.
