Abstract
The present investigation focuses on the study of aeromycoflora in agricultural fields from Baramati, Pune, Maharashtra, conducted during 2023-2024 and 2024-2025. An alfresco aeromycological survey was conducted across various localities in the Baramati region using the petriplate exposure method. Approximately 43 fungal species were identified. The Ascomycotina class predominated, contributing 17 species to the total aerospora, followed by Deuteromycotina (14 species), Zygomycotina (5 species), Basidomycotina (4 species), Myxomycotina (2 species), and Mastigomycotina (1 species). Among the genera surveyed Aspergillus sp., Rhizopus sp., Trichoderma sp., Mucor sp., Alternaria sp., Curvularia sp. and Fusarium sp. were identified as the predominant fungal genera, occurring intermittently throughout the survey period.
