Abstract
The present study emphasizes on morpho molecular studies of Flavodon flavus (KI) Ryv. which was collected from several locations of Kedgoan, Daund Tahsil of Pune district of Maharashtra. The study carried out during different seasonal periods, including the pre-monsoon, monsoon and post-monsoon. Field photography, ecological and fungal details, morphological and anatomical characteristics were used for primary identification of this fungus. During the species identification important taxonomic key characters such as colour, dimensions, form, texture, type of wood decay, basidiocarp features and basidiospore morphology played very important role. Further to ensure accuracy in identification, the collected samples were molecularly identified through sequencing of the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) region.
