Abstract

This study was designed to explore the effects of different concentrations (1:1, 1:5 and 1:10) and types of biofertilizers (Phospho bacteria – Pseudomonas; Azotobacter bacteria; Acetobacter bacteria; Rhizobium bacteria; Potassium solution bacillus) on seed germination and growth performance of Capsicum annuum L. F1 generation US344 variety. Performance of chilli plant was assessed by application of various biofertilizers and data collected for seed germination and growth performances included germination rate, survival rate, plant height, number of leaf per plant, and leaf area. Germination and plant growth performance were found to be maximum with the treatment of Phospho bacteria-pseudomonas noted while in case of Azotobacter bacteria, Acetobacter bacteria, Rhizobium bacteria and Potassium solution Bacillus increased the germination and growth performance were higher with compared to control. Among the different concentrations (1:1, 1:5 and 1:10) and types of bio-fertilizers, 1:5 ratio of all the biofertilizers showed substantial positive effect on seed germination and growth of Capsicum annuum. Based on the successful effective dose trial, the 1:5 ratio of biofertilizer was chosen for efficacy study.
