Abstract
The present investigation was carried out to evaluate the response of different organic mulching materials on yield and quality parameters of Strawberry (Fragaria ananasa) cv. Winter Dawn during the Rabi season of 2023-2024. The experiment comprises treatments of different organic mulching materials. The treatments were T1 (Control), T2 (Wheat straw), T3 (Paddy straw), T4 (Coconut husk), T5 (Paddy husk), T6 (Saw dust), T7 (Cut grass) and T8 (Compost) increases the yield parameters of strawberry, i.e. Number of Fruit per Plant, Fruit Yield per Plant, Fruit Length (cm), Fruit Width (cm), Fruit Weight (g), Ascorbic acid (mg), Total Soluble Solids (0Brix), Reducing Sugar (%) and Non-Reducing Sugar (%). From the present experiment it was concluded that the treatment T8 (Compost) had a favorable effect on Yield parameters of Strawberry cv. Winter Dawn compared to other treatments. This practice in production of Strawberry can be forwarded to the strawberry farmers to enhance their production and productivity.
