Abstract
The stem bark extract of Pithecellobium dulce was tested against five different bacterial strains, including Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Micrococcus flavus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus, as well as one fungal strain, Aspergillus niger. The highest action against Bacillus subtilis, Micrococcus flavus, and Staphylococcus aureus was shown by acetone extract at three different doses (200 mg/ml, 150 mg/ml, and 050 mg/ml). The current study aims to support the claim that the plant extractsâ effectiveness is influenced by the extraction process.
