Abstract
A field experiment was laid out at the Agronomy Research Form of A.N.D.U.A.T. Kumarganj, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh during Kharif season 2024, to study the impact of sequential application of herbicides on weed dynamics, weed flora, weed density, weed biomass, weed control efficiency, weed index, in the growth parameters like growth attributes, yield attributes, yield and economics of transplanted rice. The experiment was conducted in Randomized block design with eight treatments viz., T1 - Weed free up to 30 DAT, T2 - Weed free up to 60 DAT, T3 - Weedy check, T4 - Pretilachlor PE @ 750 g a.i. at 5 DAT, T5 Pyrazosulfuron PE @ 20 g a.i. at 5 DAT, T6 - Bispyribac-Na PoE @ 25 g a.i. ha-1 at 25 DAT, T7 - Pretilachlor PE @ 750 g a.i. at 5 DAT followed by Pyrazosulfuron PE @ 20 g a.i. at 5 DAT, T8 - Pyrazosulfuron PE @ 20 g a.i. at 5 DAT followed by Bispyribac Na PoE @25 g a.i. ha-1 at 25 DAT, replicated thrice with Sarju-52 as the test variety. Result reveals that lowest weed count, weed dry weight and highest weed control efficiency were recorded by T2 - Weed free up to 60 DAT, and among herbicides treatments T8 - Pyrazosulfuron PE @ 20 g a.i. at 5 DAT followed by Bispyribac Na PoE @25 g a.i. ha-1 at 25 DAT was recorded lowest and highest respectively the growth parameters and yield attributes were significantly influenced by different treatments. T2 - Weed free up to 60 DAT recorded significantly highest value of growth, yield attributes, and yield and among herbicides treatments T8 - Pyrazosulfuron PE @ 20 gm a.i. at 5 DAT followed by Bispyribac Na PoE @25 g a.i. ha-1 at 25 DAT, The highest Net return was recorded by T2 - Weed free up to 60 DAT(103690 Rs. ha-1) followed by among herbicides treatments T8 - Pyrazosulfuron PE @ 20 g a.i. at 5 DAT followed by Bispyribac Na PoE @25 g a.i. ha-1 at 25 DAT(10413 Rs. ha-1) and significantly superior to rest of the treatments. However, T3 - Weedy check was recorded the lowest net income (61238 Rs. ha-1) as compared to other treatments. The highest value of benefit cost ratio was obtained under T8 - Pyrazosulfuron PE @ 20 g a.i. at 5 DAT followed by Bispyribac Na PoE @25 g a.i. ha-1 at 25 DAT (2.27) and was statistically at par with T6 - Bispyribac-Na PoE @ 25 g a.i. ha-1 at 25 DAT (2.24) and lowest was under weedy check (1.39).
