Abstract
Runoff estimation is crucial for effective water resource management and land use planning in river catchments. In this study, we applied the Soil Conservation Service Curve Number (SCS-CN) method to estimate runoff in the Manas River catchment and nearby areas. Utilizing precipitation, land cover, soil type and topographic data, we parameterized the SCS-CN model to predict runoff for various rainfall events. The findings provide valuable insights into hydrological processes in the region, aiding informed decision-making for water resource management and land use planning.
