Abstract
Amitav Ghosh, one of the most influential contemporary writers, has extensively explored themes of ecology, environmental degradation, and climate change in his novels. This paper critically examines The Hungry Tide and Gun Island through an ecocritical lens, highlighting how these narratives depict the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature. The Hungry Tide focuses on the fragile ecosystem of the Sundarbans, while Gun Island expands the discussion to climate-induced migration and global environmental crises. By integrating literary analysis with environmental discourse, this study emphasizes the role of literature in shaping ecological consciousness and fostering sustainable thought processes.
