Abstract

The field experiment was conducted at Horticulture Research Farm-I, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow (U.P.), during rabi season of 2016-17 to study the Influence of biofertilizers and zinc on growth and yield of sprouting broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica L.). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications and experiment comprised of 16 treatment combinations with four levels of each bio-fertilizers (i.e. Control, Azotobacter, PSB, Azotobacter+PSB) and Zinc (i.e. Control, 10, 20 and 30 kg/ha). The results revealed that the maximum plant height (34.81 cm and 64.74 cm), number of leaves per plant (10.44 and 22.06), length of leaf (28.37 cm and 45.43 cm), width of leaf (13.73 cm and 44.19 cm) and plant spread (30.25 cm and 44.83 cm) were recorded at 30 and 60 days after transplanting respectively, weight of head (557.49 g), diameter of head (233.51 mm), volume of head (144.09 cc), yield per plot (5.29 kg) and yield per hectare (299.44 q.) in T16 (Azotobacter + PSB + ZnSO4 @ 30kg/ha), whereas, the minimum were recorded in the control.
