Abstract
Mentha is a labor-intensive crop as it provides numerous job opportunities to rural population who are engaged in cultivation, oil distillation and its marketing. The inclusion of mentha cultivation, processing and value addition has boosted the farmerâs income and lifestyle in the research area. This study was done during the year of 2023-25 involving 180 farmers from 12 villages of Barabanki District. Various variables were analysed to find the socio economic conditon of growers in the study area. Chi square test was used to know the relation between the education and mentha farming experience of the mentha growers. Results showed that most of the mentha farmers are of middle age having small land holding and most of them have moderate experience in mentha farming and it was found that there is no relation between the education level and mentha farming experience of the mentha growers.
