Abstract
A key component in reaching environmental sustainability and ecological balance is sustainable consumption, hence this work investigates it. It examines consumer behavior, legislative initiatives, and worldwide consumption patterns to show how overconsumption is progressively affecting natural ecosystems. The paper examines European successful sustainability initiatives and points up obstacles including financial restrictions and accessibility problems. The report also addresses ecological preservation, stressing how closely consumption habits relate to habitat destruction, loss of species, and climate change. It also addresses how circular economy ideas let businesses help to conserve the environment. To lower environmental damage and advance sustainability, it underlines in the end the requirement of a multilevel strategy including government regulations, business responsibilities, ecological conservation initiatives, and consumer behavior.
