Amrita Ghosh and Ankan Das

Abstract

Dragon fruit is an exotic super fruit introduced in India. It can be propagated through stem cuttings but development through seed is also necessary. The experiment was carried out to study on the efficacy of Benzyl Adenine in the seedling growth of dragon fruit. The present experiment consisted of priming with different concentration of Benzyl Adenine (10, 25, 50, 100, 150 and 0 ppm) as treatments with three replications. For the growing media a mixture of cocopeat, vermicompost and garden soil (1:1:1) was used. Physical observations were taken at periodic intervals. The results showed that, there were significant differences among various treatments. Seed priming with 25 ppm Benzyl Adenine recorded as the best treatment, with respect to the different parameters.
