Abstract
A 2022-23 study conducted at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand investigated the effect of growing media and plant growth regulators on high-chill peach seedlings using a Factorial Completely Randomized Design (FCRD) with three replications per treatment, totaling 16 treatment combinations. The experiment tested four growing media types (soil: sand: FYM, soil: sand: vermicompost, soil: sand: cocopeat and soil: FYM: vermicompost: cocopeat) and four chemical treatments (control, GA3 at 500 ppm, kinetin at 50 ppm and thiourea at 5000 ppm). GA3 at 500 ppm with soil: FYM: vermicompost: cocopeat (M4C3) produced the best root parameters. This combination of GA3 at 500 ppm and the soil: FYM: vermicompost: cocopeat growing medium is recommended for producing high-quality peach seedling rootstocks.
