Abstract

Biostimulants are naturally derived substances used to improve plant growth, yield, and persistance against stress. Often, we substitute traditional fertilizers for crop growth due to their inability to fix nitrogen and reliance on pesticides for disease control. The extensive application of fertilizers and pesticides in farming has led to concerns regarding their detrimental impacts on the environment, public health, and ecosystems. Utilizing biostimulants in different combination can aid in evaluating their synergistic or antagonistic influences on plant development, leading to the creation of more effective stimulants that reduce environmental contamination. Nanotechnology presents significant benefits in agriculture, including increasing crop yields, combating plant pathogens, and limiting the unintended release of harmful substances. Consequently, this review emphasizes the significance of various biostimulants and their formulations, particularly nano-based biostimulants, which offer a promising eco-friendly approach to sustainable plant growth.
