Abstract

Fungi are commonly used for their pharmacological properties and nutritional value. The aim of this study is the determination of antioxidant activity of wild macro fungi collected from different localities of Nashik district. An antioxidant potential of wild macro fungi by DPPH Scavenging Assay method (2,2-Diphenyl- 1picrylhy drazyl) was done. Based on the results obtained from the experimental work an antioxidant activity was estimated in samples and inhibitory concentration (IC50)50%. One sample is found to be most potent among all the samples, fifteen samples are found equivalent to standard (ascorbic acid) 12.89 ?g and nine samples are less potent as compared to other samples. Apart from their remarkable nutritional value, the analyzed wild fungi are a valuable source of natural antioxidants.
