Abstract
The present study was undertaken to assess water quality of Nandikandi lake located at Sadashivpet, Sangareddy district, Telangana state, India from June-2023 to May 2024 in pre-monsoon, monsoon and post-monsoon. Some physico-chemical parameters like temperature, pH, conductivity, turbidity, total dissolved solids, total alkalinity as CaCO3, total hardness of CaCO3, calcium, magnesium, non carbonates hardness of CaCO3, carbonate hardness of CaCO3, sodium, potassium, fluoride, chlorides, sulphates, nitrates, iron, BOD and COD were observed because the lake was affected by industrial and agricultural discharges. The results shown that the major parameters were within the range only and some seasonal fluctuations were observed. BOD (5.2 mg/l) and COD (2.2 mg/l) were little bit high in pre-monsoon because of more amounts of algae present in the water.
