ESTIMATION OF WATER RESOURCES AVAILABILITY OF SANKH RIVER BASIN, INDIA USING SWAT MODEL

Neha Dwivedi, K.K. Singh and Manoj Kumar

Abstract

Hydrologists widely use the soil and assessment tool (SWAT) to develop hydrological models for water resource management studies. Due to the current thrust of the Government of Jharkhand to boost industrial growth, a proper water resources availability estimation is required for the basin. This study used SWAT to determine the water resources availability for the Sankh River basin. The model was calibrated and validated using the SWAT Calibration and Uncertainty Programs, attaining Nash Sutcliffe Efficiency and determination coefficient values of 0.81, 0.90, and 0.82, 0.92, respectively, indicating strong model performance.
