Abstract
Frequent exposure to agrochemical pesticides can have a negative impact on humans and the ecosystem by increasing pesticide build-up in the food chain. As a result, some farmers are switching to bio-inputs instead of chemical inputs. In order to learn more about the perception, usage patterns, product differentiation, influencing variables, and purchasing patterns of bio-pesticides in the Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh State, this study was carried out. Using a pre-tested questionnaire, data for this study was gathered in the agricultural year 2023-2024. The studyâs findings showed that, 60% of the sample was aware of bio pesticides and bio stimulants, and 46% had a favourable opinion of them; 31% of the sample said that farmers are taken into consideration and used; this is probably due to factors like product efficacy, environmental advantages, and health safety. The data pertaining to constraints of farmers for utilizing bio pesticide and bio stimulant inputs were collected by personally interviewing the respondents using a pre-structured schedule. Statistical tool like Garret ranking technique were employed to analyze the data. The empirical findings of the study revealed that the majority of the constraints faced by consumer while utilizing bio pesticides and bio stimulants was the lack of awareness followed by lack of quality of bio-inputs.
