Abstract
We evaluated the effect of Sphagnum moss extract (ME) and its combination with vermicompost (VMCP) and neem seed cake (NSC) on the growth, chlorophyll content and seed oil content of Arachis hypogaea L. The results revealed that the combined treatment of ME and VMCP significantly increases root length and shoot length. ME along with vermicompost increase leaf growth (number of leaves and leaf surface area) and chlorophyll content. Root nodules and number of pods were also significantly increased in the group receiving combined treatment of VMCP and ME. Moreover, ME along with VMCP and NSC increase oil content in the seeds. These results demonstrated that the inclusion of ME along with organic manures can stimulate growth and increase productivity of Arachis hypogaea L.
