Abstract
Heavy metals damage plants through excess accumulation of reactive oxygen species. In the current work we determined the potency of green synthesized AgNPs (0.75%) against damaged happened by cadmium in seed of Vigna radiaae. Germination percentage, radical length, biomass accumulation, Membrane stability, electrolyte leakage and tissue viability under cadmium increased situation were analyzed. Germination percentage of Vigna radiate seeds not showed significant importance differences between Distilled water and Cd + NP. Radicle length of cadmium treated seed was 72% lesser against control distilled water and green AgNP treated seed obtained 60.3% augmentation radical length after 72 hours. Fresh mass of Cd stressed seed treated with green AgNPs was 30% increased. 45% membrane of radical affected by Cd stressed with the help of AgNP radical membrane was less affected up to 40%. Electrolyte leakage was reduced 30% by AgNP compared with Cd stressed seed (60%). Viability of seed tissue of Cd stressed was 53% less when compared with control. Cd stressed seed was treated with AgNPs 47% increased the seed viability. This study will novel insights of the damage inflicted by cadmium and contribution of green AgNPs in mitigation of Cd toxicity in Vigna radiata.
