QUALITATIVE TRAITS AND SHELF-LIFE ANALYSIS OF DAHLIA (DAHLIA VARIABILIS L.) GENOTYPES

Abstract

The experiment on Qualitative, yield, and shelf-life analysis of dahlia (Dahlia variabilis L.) genotypes was carried out at Horticultural Research Station, Mandouri, Faculty of Horticulture, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Nadia. During the year 2019 to 2020 and 2020 to 2021 with a view to find out the best genotypes for Qualitative, yield, and shelf-life analysis of dahlia. The genotype Hiranmoyee had the largest individual flower weight (48.6g), Minu Yellow genotype showed highest floral diameter (22.1 cm), length of ray floret (11.4 cm) whereas, width of ray floret recorded highest in genotype Kelvin Rose (4.2 cm). Maximum flower stalk length (36.6cm) and vase life (5.1 days) was recorded in Jyotsona.
