Abstract
A field experiment was conducted during kharif (Rainy) season of 2023 at Crop Research Farm, SHUATS. The treatments consisted of pre emergence application of Pendimethalin at 0.75 and 1.0 kg/ha in combination with hand weeding, pre - emergence application of pretalachlor at 0.40 and 0.75 kg/ha in combination with hand weeding, pre - emergence application of pendimethalin at 0.75 and 1.0 kg/ha, pre emergence application of pretalachlor at 0.40 kg/ha and 0.75 kg/ha in combination with post - emergence application of bispyribac sodium at 0.025 kg/ha, hand weeding and weedy check (control). Next to hand weeding preemergence application of pendimethalin at 1.0 kg/ha in combination with hand weeding recorded highest weed control efficiency (76.97%), effective tillers (185.53) and yield attributes namely more no. of grains/ panicle (108.40) and grain yield (5.98t/ha).
