Abstract

An on-farm trial (OFT) was conducted at Bara Dhanabindi, Boarijore Block and Kumarshi, Pathargama block of Godda district during kharif season of 2020 and 2021 to assess the effect of integrated weed management on productivity and profitability of blackgram. Our results revealed that significantly lowest weed density of grasses, broad leaved weeds (BLWs), sedges, total weed count and weed dry weight was recorded with application of pendimethalin 1000 g a.i./ha (PE) + one hand weeding at 30 DAS over application of pendimethalin 1000 g a.i./ha (PE) and farmer’s practice. Application of pendimethalin 1000 g a.i./ha (PE) + one hand weeding at 30 DAS observed significantly higher seed yield, gross returns, net returns, B: C ratio, production and economic efficiency over pendimethalin 1000 g a.i./ha (PE) and farmer’s practice. However, farmer’s practice was recorded higher weed index and the lowest WCE. Thus, application of pendimethalin @1.0 kg a.i./ha (PE) + one hand weeding may be recommended for higher crop productivity and profitability of blackgram under hill and plateau region of Eastern India.
