Abstract
Mung bean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) being one of the important pulse crops of India which is commonly known as green gram or mung /moong /mungo /golden gram. These crops fit well in the crop rotation and occupy an important position in the human diet. Various factors have been recognized for low yield of mung bean are its poor quality of seed, incidence of Root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne sp.).An experiment was carried out for the management of root-knot nematode, M. javanica in mung bean using oil cakes {(neem cakes (5.0 q./ha), neem cake (7.5 q./ha), mustard cake (5.0 q./ha), mustard cake (7.5 q./ha), castor cake (5.0 q./ha), castor cake (7.5 q./ha), mahua cake (5.0 q./ha), mahua cake (7.5 q./ha)} were added to soil. Application of neem cakes 7.5q./ha was recorded the most effective treatment by giving maximum plant growth characters and decreased nematode reproduction. Followed by mustard cake 7.5q./ha, castor cake 7.5q./ha. Untreated check was observed as least with minimum plant growth characters and maximum nematode reproduction.
