WOMEN PARTICIPATION IN AGRICULTURE: A CASE STUDY OF KARBI ANGLONG DISTRICT, ASSAM, INDIA

Abstract

Present paper studies women’s participation in agriculture in Karbi Anglong as well to identify the women’s socio-economic life. The study was conducted in four villages, according to the site suitability. The data present in the study is collected through primary data collection with the help of various techniques like- Interviews, focus group discussion, observation among the respondents. The secondary data are collected from various government sources and various journals and articles. An attempt is made in this paper to find the role played by women in agricultural activities. Also the paper argues about the working time of women in their daily life. The analysis reveals that women plays role not only in agricultural activities but as well in managing the household activities.
