Abstract
The present investigation was carried out during June-September 2016 at the Agricultural Research Farm of RGS-Campus, Banaras Hindu University, Barkachha, Mirzapur. The experiment was laid out in the factorial randomized design with two levels of sulphur (20 kg ha-1 and 30 kg ha-1) and three levels of boron (0.75 kg ha-1, 1.50 kg ha-1 and 2.25 kg ha-1) and was replicated thrice. The yield of blackgram was significantly influenced by the treatments of boron and sulphur levels. The highest plant height, number of branches plant-1, number of root nodules plant-1, grain yield, test weight (1000-seed weight), stover yield, biological yield and harvest index were obtained by application of 30 kg ha-1 sulphur and 2.25 kg ha-1 boron. The interaction of 30 kg ha-1 sulphur (S2) with 2.25 kg ha-1 boron (B3) produced significantly highest value of yield attributes and yields over other treatments. The application of 30 kg sulphur ha-1 (S2) gave better result over others. It was observed that application of 30 kg sulphur ha-1 with 2.25 kg ha-1 boron was found most suitable under rainfed condition for blackgram crop. Thus, the farmers of Vindhyan regions may be advised to apply 30 kg sulphur ha-1 with 2.25 kg ha-1 boron for getting higher yield of blackgram crop.
