Abstract
An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of media and PGPR on sprouting of cuttings and growth in bush pepper during the year 2022-23. The experiment included sixteen different treatments laid out in a completely randomized design in a naturally ventilated polyhouse. The results revealed that the application of A. chroococcum+ B. megaterium + B. mucilaginosus to the media containing red soil + sand + FYM (T15) resulted in early sprouting (12.53 days). Whereas, T16 (red soil + sand + vermicompost + A. chroococcum+ B. megaterium + B. mucilaginosus) resulted in early sprouting of 50 per cent of the cuttings (42.33 days) and showed maximum sprouting percentage (44.44, 55.56 and 68.89) at 30, 60 and 90 days after planting. Also, the shoot length (6.23 cm) and shoot girth (3.75 mm), number of leaves (4.53), total chlorophyll content (2.52 mg/g fresh weight) was highest in the treatment T16.
