AMIT ARORA, RAJESH KUMAR KAMBOJ AND ASHISH GUPTA

Abstract

Wastewater from textile industries has been cause of concern for environmentalists. To minimize hazardous effect of textile industry effluents the policy makers have set minimal national discharge standards for discharging the wastewater into environment. For achieving the standards industries treat wastewater with various techniques including physical, chemical and biological. However, most of these methods have certain drawbacks that limit their effectiveness in curing wastewater. In last few decades electro coagulation has drawn attention as a potential environmentally benign technology for treating textile industry wastewater. Electro coagulation is an electro chemical process in which cations produced from anodes causes coagulation of pollutants present in the solution. This paper study reveals a review of latest research work carried in the field of electro coagulation for wastewater treatment of textile industry.
