SharmaAbstract In the recent past, adoption of Litopenaeus vannamei technology had contributed remarkably towards the global seafood supply and transforms the aquaculture sector to a vibrant industry. To assess the technological advancement made by shrimp farmers by adopting L.vannamei technology during 2012 to 2015, a survey was conducted among four purposively selected districts of Gujarat, namely, Surat, Valsad, Navsari and Bharuch. A sample of 180 shrimp farmers randomly selected from these districts and primary data was collected by using structural interview schedule. Adoption quotient in terms of percentage is then calculated by using the formula given by Sengupta, 1967. The result reveals that shrimp farmers in Surat and Navsari district follow high adoption of L.vannamei technology as compared to Valsad and Bharuch districts of Gujarat. Among the selected shrimp farmers in these districts, significant influence of technology was found due to perceived attribute, decisions, communication channels, social networking and their effort to change agents. Thus, genuine efforts are required to attain higher adoption rate among L.vannamei farmers, so that shrimp industry can boom and contribute towards Blue Revolution in the country.
