INTEGRATION OF CHEMICAL AND BOTANICALS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF MAIZE CYST NEMATODE, HETERODERA ZEAE ON MAIZE

Abstract

An integrated trial was carried out for the management of maize cyst nematode, Heterodera zeae on maize. Acephate, carbosulfan and thiodicarb were used @ 1 % w/w as seed treatment alongwith dry leaf powder of neem, jatropha and lantana @ 1 q/ha as organic amendment against of H. zeae on maize. Results exhibited that among various combinations tested , carbosulfan @ 1 % w/w coupled with neem leaves powders @ 1 q/ha was found most effective for the management of maize cyst nematode followed by acephate @ 1 % w/ w + neem leaves powder @ 1 q/ha and carbosulfan @ 1 % w/w + jatropha leaves powder @ 1 q/ha. Thiodicarb + lantana leaves powder was found least effective .
